How it Works

Survey-online.com is a web-based survey application that is accessible via the internet.

Once an organisation has registered as a 'Subscriber', a designated 'Survey Administrator' within that organisation will be given access to the administrative areas of Survey-online.com.

The Survey Administrator will then be able to carry out a number of administrative functions - from any location where access to the internet is available, and at any time, including:

  • Create new surveys of any type
  • Build surveys using customised colours, introductions, questions and rating scales, or using questions included in our library of questions (library questions enable benchmarking against our database)
  • Import user lists to the application (a staff list for example), and then assign specific users to specific surveys
  • Assign specific rights to users (the right to complete a survey only, or to view reports, etc)
  • Set specific viewing rights. This might enable viewing of 'Total Organisation' results, or viewing of sub-unit results only (e.g. a Team within a Department within a Business Unit). Business Unit heads, for example, can be given access to aggregated BU results, as well as the individual Department and Team results that make up that BU
  • Set up trending for a survey, period-to-period
  • Determine survey questionnaire access options (e.g. single-click access, login access, etc)
  • Maintain organisation demographics for inclusion in any surveys created as desired, including organisation structure, position, age, gender, tenure, etc
  • Assigning respondents to participants (in the case of 360-degree feedback)
  • Setting up the 'quick entry' facility where hardcopy questionnaires are being used
  • Activating and closing surveys as appropriate
  • Monitoring survey progress, activating reminder emails to those who have not responded if appropriate

John Robertson & Associates provides training for new Survey Administrators (normally a half-day programme). A comprehensive User Manual is provided, and help-desk support is always available.
